S-2CONNECT Creo SOM is the latest release by TT Electronics with the intent to design being a quick IoT deployment. Engineers, programmers, and developers can use this board to reduce R&D risk and accelerate the development of IoT applications by employing a pre-certified system-on-module (SOM) board with cellular connectivity.
“To meet the rising demand for connected applications, speed to market is critical and the right development tool can accelerate the process. Even experienced developers and integrators can benefit from solutions that provide the hardware, software, firmware, connectivity and cloud-based services that will reduce time-to-market,” commented Kjell Karlsson, Managing Director at TT Electronics.
Multiple industry-standard interfaces are available on the S-2CONNECT Creo SOM, making it appropriate for a variety of applications including automation, asset tracking, mobile healthcare, and broader industrial IoT. The S-2CONNECT pre-certifies for Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada.
TT Electronics’ S2-Connect Creo SOM
At the heart of the S-2CONNECT Creo SOM, there is an ARM Cortex-A7 processor core with embedded Linux OS. This encompasses a broad range of interfaces for integrating components such as Bluetooth, GNSS for positioning, and serial interfaces. In addition, it attributes 4GB of flash memory to direct booting of the system and as data storage. Furthermore, it comes with 256MB RAM and an embedded TPM (Trusted Platform Module) security cryptoprocessor for added security.
“In addition, the connectivity landscape is changing and as networks move towards switching off and sunsetting their 3G and 2G infrastructure, the S-2CONNECT Creo SOM has been designed with future-proof LTE Cat M1 and NB-IoT technology to give customers confidence in a solution that will stand the test of time.”
Additionally, the SOM attributes integrated sensors which include accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. The S-2CONNECT comprises a soldered eSIM and 3FF micro-SIM-card holder with Creo SOM, as well as an optional cellular connectivity subscription. The 200-pin SODIMM acts as an edge connector. The module offers real-time sensing and positioning data. Hence provides an optimal communication bridge, thanks to its fast processor and global cellular connectivity.
The module is flexible and scalable according to the needs of the user. Developers can also access an online software development kit (SDK). You can learn more about the S-2CONNECT Creo SOM at TT Electronic’s website.
