It has just been announced by Blynk, the popular IoT platform, that the new Blynk Platform is open for public sign-up. This is their first major upgrade since their launch in 2015. Blynk is the first mobile app builder and IoT platform of its kind, and it has become a hit among hobbyists and professionals alike. The company provides IoT services to businesses across a wide range of industries. Through this upgrade, Blynk aims to give everyone the tools to build DIY projects or start an IoT business. The new Blynk Platform is designed to support projects at any scale. According to Blynk, this new Platform will cover 90-100% of use cases a business can face in the first years of IoT operations.
Key features of the new Blynk Platform
Blynk created an entirely new platform with a host of new features and functions. The following is an overview of some of the key features.
Blynk-App (New app for new Blynk platform):

One of the major upgrades to this platform is the new Blynk app for IOS and Android operating systems. The app has been totally redesigned, with a cleaner UI and a modern design. Almost all of the issues present in the old app have been resolved. Switching between projects is simplified and a sleek, customizable interface replaces the cluttered, confusing former interface. New widgets and features have been added, such as automation support. The app comes with Blynk-air, which makes it possible to update connected devices as well as upload codes over the air. Currently, only a few boards like ESP32 support this, but more devices are planned for later releases. Also, there is now a Wi-Fi connection wizard called Blynk-Inject, which allows you to enter your Wi-Fi credentials directly from the Blynk app.
Blynk-360 (A Web Dashboard to do everything):

This was the most requested feature by the community. In addition to the mobile app, Blynk has created a web dashboard with a clean and simple interface. It can be used to add and manage devices, control access to IoT devices and monitor their usage. Moreover, multi-tenancy is now available. It’s now possible to add/remove members and decide how they access data by setting roles and configuring permissions accordingly. Device management on the web dashboard works similarly to the Blynk app. Instead of local servers, the new platform uses cloud-based ones called Blynk-cloud. Aside from that, Blynk now uses a new library for its platform called Blynk-Edgent. As a result, it’s now necessary to modify code for the boards associated with the old platform in order to work with the new one.
Final thoughts on the Blynk Platform
